Data Protection law in 2025

In January 2025, the government published the draft of Digital Personal Data Protection Rules and called for suggestions regarding the same until 18 February, 2025. On consideration of all suggestions, the rules came into force through notification on 14 November 2025, fully operationalising the DPDP Act, 2023.

Bigger companies must follow extra safety rules and audits.

Note: These rules give organisations about 18 months to follow the new requirements.
