Important Considerations for Depreciation

1. Half-Yearly Depreciation Rule:

An asset which has been in use for less than 180 days in that year will be subject to a capped depreciation to not exceed 50 per cent.

Land, since it has an unlimited life.

Personal effects which are not used for business.

3. Exemptions And Disallowances:

Depreciation is not permissible on assets that wouldn't be utilized in the year in consideration.
